Sea World

Today my HS class got to go visit Sea World. We saw Shamu and the Dolphins. I think I liked all the coke stands best.

I had a good night. No seizures. But this morning I had no appetite. I know it made my Dad sad I got on the bus without eating or drinking anything.

And now for dinner, whatever Mom makes I just want to eat cheese. Chunks of Cheddar cheese. Mmmmmmm!!!

Here is some history about Shamu:

Shamu was captured with her presumed mother on October 31, 1965, from J, k, or L pod, a culture of orca called Southern residents and who are found only in the Pacific Northwest. The captures used a small harpoon on the unnamed adult female, who later died because the tip of the weapon had punctured her lung, on November 1st. Shamu was kept as a replacement mate for Namu (who was never owned, nor exhibited by Sea World). Griffin, the original owner of both Namu and Shamu, was eventually forced to sell the young female calf because she frequently attacked him. He put her up for sale and Sea World purchased her. Shamu died on August 23, 1971, from pyrometra septicemia. She was never at any of the other parks nor was she ever pregnant. She died at a very young age. Only 5 wild caught individuals are still alive at Sea World parks; there are 31 dead, wild caught orca. Of the captive born, 15 are dead and 18 are still alive.
