Picnic in the Park

Saturday I slept all day. I had seizures starting about 4:30 AM and never really got out of bed.

So I missed the Epilepsy Associations First Annual Picnic in the Park.

But Dad went. He is the President. The face pait guy put the EFA flame on his cheek.

I wish I could have gone. They had lots of games, good chicken to eat, the Chick FIlet cow came by and then at the end Dr. T held a very informative Q&A session.

Dad said there were over 100 people there. But only one port-a-potty - Ooops.

I'm sure tomorrow will be better.

Chick Filet brought us lunch and of course their mascot - a cow, say, 'Eat Mor Chicken!'

Sunday Driving

Sunday's are great days. After church Dad takes me around town to look at airplanes, trains ad sometimes to where they are working on the highways.

Sure is a pretty day.

Of course we get to go by Mac Donalds or Burger King first. I like the chicken nuggets and Diet Coke.

Da d had a BIG truck bring a pile of dirt for us to use in the flower beds and on the lawn.

So this Saturday Mom, Dad and I are scooping dirt and having fun.

Airplanes

All right! I love watching the airplanes come in! Posted by Picasa

Saturday was a wonderful sunny day and we wnet help Grandpa trim his trees. Dad got out a BIG ladder and set it up to cut branches. After that Granpa climbed up and sprayed the cut branch with black stuff.

Then Granpa helped me get shoes on so I could help drag branches to the curb. We also got a long orange cord for Dad to put in the Electric Saw. Then he cut off lots of brnaches. Posted by Picasa

Sunday trains

The weekends are great fun. Dad takes me down to the switching yard on the East side of town. There I get to watch the engines move back and forth and watch the men put trains together.

When the cars ar let go and then slam into each other they make a BIG BOOM!
It is great fun.

Monday 9-11

Morning all,

Alex had a great weekend. He came home very happy Friday, did music therapy and then bugged me through out the weekend to take him to see trains or planes.

We did both many times over.

Then each night going to bed and even when I thought he was asleep (1:26 AM, 2:37 AM, 4:25 AM) he would call out form his bed, ‘Train. Train.’

I refer to this as his ‘manic state’. The seizures have cleared and everything is very vivid to him. He really enjoyed his food, wanted to do puzzle after puzzle, talk on the phone to his sister and constantly brought me my wallet and glasses (his way of saying we need to go look for planes and trains).

This morning he is a little more subdued. But he ate well (eggs and cheese) and is ready for the bus. His hand jerked several times when he was eating but I think that was just part of the waking up process.

Thanks for the puzzle books. Were they to remain with us?

He has money for bowling in his backpack.

Hope you have a grand day.

Neal

Haircut Day

This is Rosa. She has been cutting my hair since I was 2-3 years old. At first I did not like the clipper, itchy hair, and smelly stuff. But now I look forward to haircut day and being with Rosa.

After my haircut we usually go out for dinner. There is a neat place close by called, Willie's. I get chips and cheese and some times a hamburger.

Since it is Friday, DAd will than take me to the airport to watch the planes land. Or we got out to Converse and watch the trains. Either on is really fun.

Back to School

Yeah we got your email okay. Glad the system is back in operation.

Well we learned a lot from the therapist yesterday. It appears we have a long road to getting Alex standing straighter and loosening his legs.

We hope things are going well at school.

We did have seizures Sunday morning, but the last couple of nights have been fine.

This morning he was difficult to wake up but has now eaten and is ready for the bus.

Have a great day.

Couple Seizures

Early morning seizures this time.
Dad was up already so he heard me and came in to sit with me.
I guess it was a fairly intense tonic clonic but as usual it only lasted a minute or two.

Then I go back to sleep. Mom and Dad ready the paper and wait for the next one.

Sure enough, 9:10 AM here comes seizure #2. Again tonic clonic and you might expect I would go into post ictal sleep, but no, I get up and everything seems fine.

Dad goes off to church and Mom fixes me waffles.

What seizures? I have no recollection.
